Altered until it fits you.
Most clothes are close. Alteration is the work of closing the last few centimetres — the difference between a garment you own and one you wear.
An alteration starts with seeing the garment on the person. Where a hem should sit, how much a waist can take in, whether a shoulder can be moved at all — none of that can be judged from a photograph, which is why we look first and quote after.
Some garments can take more than others. A generous seam allowance gives room to let out; a fully lined jacket is a longer job than an unlined one. We will tell you which you have before any work starts.

- Trousers shortened, with the original hem kept where you want it
- Waistbands taken in or let out
- Suit jackets adjusted through the sleeve, body and shoulder
- Dresses fitted at the waist, bust and hip
- Shirts tapered through the body
- Skirts shortened and reshaped
- Sleeves shortened from the cuff or the shoulder
Before you come
- Bring the shoes you will wear with them — hem length depends on the heel
- Wear or bring the garment so it can be pinned on you
- Tell us if it needs to be ready for a particular date
Work is quoted once we have seen the garment.
